Parker and Vojdani at ACAM

First sign up for the complimentary Gluten Summit below, even though it starts today, you can still access the all of the presentations – and you can still listen to Dr. V.  [See the references on this page at Glutensensitivity.net for some of his multiple immunity findings with explicit medical implications.]

Today's Posting

A brief introduction to the most remarkable scientist I've had the pleasure of knowing, albeit peripherally, since early 2008: Dr Aristo [Ari] Vojdani.  We first met almost 6 years ago when I presented materials on SPECT neuroimaging in Beverly Hills and first met Dr Vojdani and his delightful wife.

At that time I spent much of an afternoon with Ari at Immunosciences Lab [140 articles], then on Wilshire Blvd in Beverly Hills, LA, close to Cedars Sinai Hospital,  – and we had a ball. I confess that we started the conversation quite innocently – me, the student with the Master – and to this day I still hold deep admiration for Ari's humanity, generosity and his deep intelligence for both managing patients, and understanding the neuroscience of immunity.

Cyrex Labs – The Most Comprehensive Testing Available

Dr Vojdani is now the Chief Scientific Advisor for CyrexLabs.com the foremost lab in the immunity measurement field for more specific gluten and casein cross sensitivity testing – outlined in street terms in this video at YouTube by Sean Croxton 8.08 min. Cyrex reports details not covered by another other publicly available lab – globally. Cyrex makes the deep cellular understanding of immunity-gone-wrong the new standard of care. Neuroscience moves ever more affirmatively to cellular evidence that translates to improved patient care in offices with vision. [I don't work for them, I do use their reports.]

Homework: Diagrams & Articles Abound

Here at Gluten Sensitivity.net Dr Vojdani sets up a kind of training program for the uninitiated, or for those who complete this Gluten Summit and look forward to more specific patient information.

Articles Here: Today let's travel a bit deeper into the Celiac Literature and the Testing possibilities. Take some time later and download these excellent, deep Gluten and Casein Allergy Articles if you have any remaining doubts about the seriousness and current research available for these immunity matters.

Excellent Diagrams Here: Scroll down to the bottom of this Gluten Sensitivity Page to see the graphics of just how all these immunity issues play out in the gut.

ACAM – American College For The Advancement In Medicine

I'm much looking forward to seeing Ari and renewing our friendship at the ACAM meeting in two weeks out in Palm Springs – and I know that when you listen to Ari for the Gluten Summit you need preparation. Fasten your seat belts and hang on. Ari doesn't waste any time going from zero to top speed. Be ready for fast turns and hard facts. [His is an outstanding presentation!]

I have had the multiple autoimmunity screan and the chemical immune reactivity screan done and have situations i have to deal with. The ordering physcian said she did it only for her information and referred me to a place in another state that has a spa. I need help..My goal is to find someone who caN DESIGN AN EFFECTIVE TREATMENT PLAN or tell me how I can best protect myself.. thank you. dana p.s. i am willing to do anything.

  2. […] be meeting with Aristo Vojdani PhD, Chief Scientific Advisor for Cyrex, at ACAM in Palm Springs this week to learn and report more… Stay […]

  3. There was nothing cutting edge about Amen’s talk – and little about gluten sensitivity’s role in cognition (which is what I had hoped to learn more about in his talk) — but I’m sure the info about brain/health linkage was new to SOME of the people listening (it did seem to be targeted to newbies.)

Good thing we’ve got YOU, huh?

    • Madelyn,
Big list, more innocent level of awareness, two positive attributes for this deep group of experts.

      Two relevant quotes:
“However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.”
      ~ Winston Churchill

“The good thing about science is that it’s true whether or not you believe in it.”
      ~ Neil deGrasse Tyson

      • 100% agree with you here – Vojani interview is AMAZING – especially underscored and summarized by Dr. Tom for those of us without a “masters level” background.

It is a MUST pay attention to, even if you are not interested in gluten sensitivities in the slightest (and don’t experience problems).

I listened last nite and am listening again this “morning” – pdf on my screen to make sure I pay attention to every word. Wow!
        ————————————–

Always love your quotes, cp, and have snagged several for my blog.

RE: quote #2: We must be careful about our definition of “science” however. As we learn more with more sophisticated technology, older science becomes “less true” and sometimes overturned completely. [flat earth, anyone? gut biopsy for gluten intolerance?]

*AND* science can’t find what it doesn’t look for [N24 effects primarily the blind; ADD goes away at puberty – and many more]

That brings us back to quote #1 (and O’Brian’s repeated “The body doesn’t lie” – EVEN if current tests can’t find the problem!!)

WHICH brings us back to comprehensive immune system testing vs. relying on one or two tests to rule something IN or OUT- which ALSO means, of course, you simply MUST be aware of the many ways the immune system marshals its defenses, including memory-B cells, if you expect to find and fix physical and mental problems (as YOU have been saying forever!)

Thank you SO much for your heads up on the Summit. Except for your email, I would have passed it by as having little to do with my life and practice – totally wrong assumption!

        xx,
        mgh

      • Sure wish I could edit my comments at the back end!

My strict grammar upbringing has resulted in a kind of “grammar & spelling OCD” – but I type quickly on a “sticky” keyboard, and frequently miss things in my first proof, picking them up only when I see my words in another format (ie., affect vs effect)

Then my father goes “tut-tut-tut” from heaven! And I cringe.

  4. Well, Gluten Summit Day-1 is almost behind us – what a ride, huh?

I chose to pop for the recordings AS I was listening to the first – Marsh – to be able to plan to listen in a manner that fits my schedule more conveniently. I REALLY wanted access to the the transcripts, since I intake info best in cognitive -i.e., reading – vs. audial modalities.

Once all downloads were complete & organized, I skipped ahead to hear Amen’s interview – and plan to concentrate on the Brain-based content first.

I appreciate the extra nudge toward Vojdani, however, and the additional places to troll for info (he also donated several bonuses for those who bought the “tapes.”)

So much to know – so little time!

    • Madelyn,
Marsh was outstanding… I am certainly going to buy the CD, the Transcript and video access. These guys are terrific. I’ll be interested to listen to Amen, but expect, without hearing him that he will linger far behind in the details.
