ADHD Meds Don't Cover Every Base  

One of the main reasons some of the stimulant meds don't work effectively is that they don't cover every essential neurotransmitter system necessary for efficient pre-frontal cortical communication.

Remember: Meds collect neurotransmitters, they don't create them.

1. Stimulants, as a group, address dopamine collection.
2. Intuniv, a non-stimulant derived from tenex, addresses glutamate collection.
3. Kapvay, a non-stimulant derived from clonidine, addresses glutamate collection.
4. Strattera, a non-stimulant, addresses norepinephrine collection.

Since ADHD meds don't create neurotransmitters they can't collect neurotransmitters either absent or diminished at the synaptic scene.  If, on the other hand, too many neurotransmitters are already present due to other comorbid conditions, these several ADHD medications can significantly add to the increase, creating toxic outcomes – too many, a flood of neurotransmitters.

PEA: The Base That's Not On The Current Playing Field

Just remember that PEA, phenylethylamine, does provide an additional treatment/improvement opportunity if for biomedical reasons, such as often seen with gluten or casein allergies, the dopamine, norepinephrine and glutamate are already significantly out-of-balance [either measured too much, or too little].
